Biography

Audra Polk, an educator and actor, currently teaches English and Dramatics at Eastern Senior High School. Before moving to Eastern, she began her DCPS career as a theatre arts (acting and playwriting) teacher at Ballou High School where she also served as the Ballou Fine Arts Team Department Chair. Prior to teaching full time, Audra was the Residency Programs Manager for the Shakespeare Theatre Company at the Harman Center for the Arts. She has worked nationally as an actor with several companies, including Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Old Globe, African Continuum Theatre Company, and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. Audra received a BA from The George Washington University and MFA from the Academy for Classical Acting at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, as well as recently graduated from the Leading Educators Fellowship Program in 2013.
