Arts Integration at the Phillips
Can a small art museum have a big role in K-12 reform?
The Phillips Collection Education team has collaborated with K12 teachers and researchers to develop Prism.K12. The goal? To give teachers the tools they need to successfully implement quality arts integration.
Prism.K12 is central to the museum’s pursuit of K12 education reform and its mission as a twenty-first century museum. The framework is the result of the Phillips’s work in the field of K12 arts-integrated teaching and learning for over a decade. The museum’s Education Department has researched and produced award-winning arts-integrated teacher resources, engaged in local school partnerships, and led national K-12 initiatives. These programs are rigorously assessed by third-party independent evaluators. Similarly, Prism.K12 is the result of numerous evidence-based assessments in K-12 and museum education.
